Sharing with others promotes healing.
Group Therapy facilitates self-awareness for individuals by allowing them an opportunity to listen to and interact with others with similar issues. Working in a group provides emotional support, helps people decrease loneliness, and fosters a sense of universality and connection.
Nothing is like the support, shared experience, and thoughts of like-minded individuals getting together to accomplish similar goals.
Why else would one want to join a group?
Joining a group can help you experience the following: decrease in isolation and creation of community, work on social skills and issues with social anxiety, restructure one’s self-concept, understand oneself and the thoughts and feelings of others, give and receive feedback about maladaptive behaviors in real-time, and heal shame in the presence of others.
I created a group after attracting clients from all over the country and the world who came to NYC for work, school, or other reasons. These clients had little or no community here, and more recently, COVID created more isolation for people.
I wanted to create a place for people to connect with others more genuinely.
Don’t stay isolated. Join our group and experience support and encouragement from people like yourself.
Come join us!
My group meets weekly on Tuesday evenings in my Union Square office.
We meet from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, and the group is limited to eight members. We cover a wide range of topics, including dealing with narcissistic parents, dating, social anxiety, unemployment, race, and sexism.
If you have out-of-network benefits, you may qualify for reimbursement.
